NR3C2

Renal System · Renin-Angiotensin-Aldosterone System

Why can a hormone receptor affect both sodium and blood pressure?

NR3C2 makes the mineralocorticoid receptor, which responds to hormones involved in sodium regulation. Changes in sodium handling influence fluid balance and therefore can affect blood pressure.
